Privacy

How this site handles data. Short version: it doesn't collect any.

What this site collects

Nothing. There are no user accounts, no comments, no contact forms, no analytics scripts, and no third-party trackers on this site.

The only data the site stores about you is what your browser sends to the hosting platform (Vercel) for routine request logging — your IP address and user-agent string for a short retention window, used to detect abuse. This is standard for any website and is not shared.

What this site stores

Headlines, links, and short summaries from public RSS feeds of health authorities and major news outlets. These are cached in a database so the site loads quickly without re-fetching every feed on every visit. Articles include the source name, publication date, headline, summary excerpt, and a link to the original article on the source's website.

No article content is republished beyond what RSS feeds expose. Links go directly to the original source.

Cookies and local storage

The site uses localStorage only to remember your theme preference (light or dark). This stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.

No cookies are set by this site. The browser may receive cookies from Vercel and from CARTO map tiles for routine network operations, governed by their privacy policies.

Third-party services

This site is hosted on Vercel and pulls map tiles from CARTO. RSS feed contents come from the original publishers (WHO, CDC, ECDC, PAHO, BBC, Reuters, and others). Article links you click navigate away from this site to those publishers' websites, which set their own cookies and tracking.

Feedback submissions

The site has a feedback form on the /feedback page. When you submit it, your message is saved to the same database the site uses for news cache, and only the site owner can read it through the database admin panel. Name and email fields on the form are optional — leave them blank if you don't want a reply.

Submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up on corrections. They are not shared with anyone else and are not used for analytics or marketing.
